What Participants Have Said
Faridah Hanisah
Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur
"I attended the planning session after my father passed and I realised I had no idea where anything was. The session gave me a structure I could actually follow — not advice about what to do with the documents, but a way of seeing what I had and when things needed renewing. I did not realise how much of the administrative year is actually predictable."

"I came to the Care Records Course because I had taken on looking after my mother-in-law and had no system for tracking appointments or expenses. By week four I had a workbook that made sense. The facilitator was careful about what she covered — she redirected anything touching on legal matters, which I appreciated because I knew the boundaries."

Ravindar Singh
Subang Jaya, Selangor
"I attended the planning session as a private booking for just my household. The calendar we produced that afternoon is still on the wall. It is the first time I have felt ahead of the administrative year rather than behind it. Simple thing, but it required someone to sit down with us and go through it."

Norizan Mansor
Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
"My husband travels frequently for work and the household paperwork had always fallen to whoever was home. The planning session gave us a shared calendar we both contributed to. That shared visibility was what we needed — not a complicated system, just one that both of us could see."

Tan Kah Meng
Cheras, Kuala Lumpur
"I joined the Care Records Course to support my elderly parents from a distance. The handover file we built in weeks six and seven has been the most useful thing — my siblings in Johor can now step in and pick up exactly where I left off without needing to call me first. The pacing was good, not rushed."

"What I appreciated was the printed materials. I have been to workshops where everything is on a slide deck I never look at again. Here I left with a physical workbook that I still use. The renewals checklist alone saved me missing my road tax earlier this year."

ENTRY II · CASE ACCOUNTS
Three Situations, Three Paths Through
CASE ACCOUNT 01 · Administrative Year Planning Session
The Starting Point
A household of four adults where no one was sure which documents were stored where, which were out of date, and which had been renewed. The parents had managed the paperwork for thirty years without a written system; the adult children did not know where to begin.
The Session
A two-hour private planning session produced an inventory of what the household held, a renewal calendar for the next twelve months, and a storage arrangement separating originals from copies. The session was attended by three of the four household adults.
After Six Months
All four renewal dates noted in the session were met on time. The household reported that two were things they had not previously tracked actively. The printed calendar remained in use; no items had been misplaced since the originals were separated from copies.
"We did this because we kept losing things. We have not lost anything since." — Session participant, Damansara, July 2025
CASE ACCOUNT 02 · Guardianship & Care Records Course
The Starting Point
A grandmother who had taken on full-time care of two grandchildren while their parent worked abroad. She kept notes on her phone and in a diary but had no consistent system; the parent abroad had difficulty understanding the administrative picture when they called.
The Course
Seven weeks of ninety-minute sessions produced a records workbook, a structured appointment log, an expense record, and a handover file. A session on the PDPA helped her understand which records she could share and with whom.
After the Course
The parent abroad was able to access a clear administrative picture without needing to ask the same questions each call. When the grandmother was unwell for a week, a family member was able to step in using the handover file without additional briefing.
"I did not realise I was carrying so much in my head. The workbook holds it now instead." — Course participant, Kepong, May 2025
CASE ACCOUNT 03 · Corporate Family Transition Consulting
The Starting Point
An organisation with 180 staff had no consistent process for handling leave and notifications when employees experienced family transitions. Each case was handled differently depending on the manager, leading to uneven responses and staff uncertainty.
The Engagement
A five-month engagement mapped the current-state process, rewrote the internal policy in plain English and Bahasa Malaysia, ran four half-day manager training sessions, and produced a referral directory and template correspondence. Policy wording was reviewed by the client's own qualified professionals.
After the Engagement
HR reported that managers had a clear reference point for the first time. Three cases handled in the six months after the engagement were described by HR as noticeably more consistent than before. The policy is reviewed annually with a process Rumahwise designed.
"We had been hoping someone would help us write this down. Rumahwise did exactly that — and stayed clearly within what they were there to do." — HR Manager, Kuala Lumpur, January 2025
